A powerhouse recording artist, producer, and multi-instrumentalist, Quinton Jones believes “music is a means of expressing oneself, with the only limitations being what you set”, and prides himself on evading definitive genre labels.
A life-long student of music and a product of Dinwiddie County Public Schools, Jones journeyed to the hills of Virginia State University after matriculating from Dinwiddie High School, graduating with honors, and receiving his B.A. in Music – Audio Production in December 2016. Currently, he serves the county from which he hails as the Music Teacher for Dinwiddie Middle School and as the Assistant Band Director of the Dinwiddie High School Marching Band, specializing in percussion.
The musical career of Quinton Jones spans many years of playing for countless programs, churches, and musical acts of varying sizes, curating worship experiences as Choir Director of churches in Dinwiddie & McKinney, VA, with his light-hearted, high-spirited demeanor and relatable, approachable teaching style.
Jones is a strong advocate for the success of his friends, family, and supporters, and often avails himself to assist with the successful execution of their endeavors. He has had the opportunity to render musical accompaniment for legendary musicians in the RVA community and beyond, such as Mr. Hanon Lane, Mr. James “Saxsmo” Gates, Dr. Weldon Hill, and Mr. Rodney Stith, just to name a few. With this breadth of musical expertise and camaraderie, it’s no wonder Jones has a knack for assembling groups of likeminded individuals for natural, exalted experiences in fellowship, with music as the vehicle for doing so. Jones has taken the friends he’s gathered to perform on his own sets at the 2nd Street Festival, The Roots Jam, and In Your Ear Studio’s Shockoe Sessions.
His debut single “So You, So You” was released in 2017. Since then, he has released two additional singles: “Don’t Do It (feat. Jouri Frazer)” in 2019, and “Racing” in 2021. His music can be found on all major streaming services.
With influences in pop, EDM, jazz, hip-hop, R&B, Gospel, and more, this genre-blending musician can deliver a bit of everything; singing, playing, and rapping—but at the core of all this expression lies the common denominator: Quinton Jones.
